Washington has killed another wolf following the Forest Service’s failure to
prevent livestock-wolf conflicts. Help end this senseless cycle of killing!

Take Action
[[link removed]]Defender,
Another wolf has been killed in northeast Washington – one more casualty of the
Forest Service’s neglect.
Just last week, the state carried out a lethal removal of a female wolf in the
Wedge pack. Year after year, the state keeps signing death warrants for wolves in the same
area of National Forest.
This doesn’t have to keep happening. Even after dozens of wolves have been
killed following conflicts with livestock, the U.S. Forest Service has failed to
change how, when or where cattle are permitted to graze in this prime wolf
habitat.
Entire packs have been wiped out.
Enough is enough: Tell the Forest Service to end these needless conflicts!

These cruel kill orders aren’t working as a deterrent. Even after eliminating
wolves from the area, new packs find their way back to these forests. This prime
habitat will continue to attract wolves – and unless the Forest Service changes course, wolf killings will continue.
There’s another way. The Forest Service needs to promote grazing practices that
protect cattle from being vulnerable to attacks in wolf habitat. And the agency
needs to hold commercial cattle ranchers responsible for protecting their
livestock from conflicts.
But it’s unacceptable for wolves to be killed after the fact – dozens of wolves
have died, but the conflicts continue.
Demand the Forest Service takes effective non-lethal action that will actually
reduce conflicts between livestock and wolves!

Defenders is on the ground in the region, working with landowners, ranchers and
state officials to design and implement solutions that protect wolves while
minimizing wolf-livestock conflicts.
We already know that gunning down wolves year after year is not the answer.
Please use your voice to help protect wolves across their historic range!
STOP SENSELESS WOLF KILLINGS
