"Trump's unsubtle goal with his census memorandum? Make the House and the electoral college more red."
-- Washington Post

Friend,

When Donald Trump released a memo claiming that only U.S. citizens should be counted in the 2020 Census (which is not what the Constitution says!), we weren't exactly surprised. After all, he's spent years trying to skew population data to help the GOP seize unearned power.

We've fought him every step of the way. But Trump is doing more than just trying to mess with the census. His administration is asking governors to send them driver's license information to help them determine people's citizenship status -- and four Republican governors have already agreed!

See, Trump is trying to get a count of only citizens so that Republicans in the states can use those numbers to determine how many U.S. House seats and how much federal funding each state gets -- not the actual numbers. It's a power grab that will harm communities of color, plain and simple.

But we're fighting back. We've helped defeat his attempts to skew the census so far, and with your support we'll keep up our record of success. Will you chip in to help us secure a fair count, fair apportionment, and fair redistricting?
