Rep. Gonzalez introduces legislation to support safely reopening schools Anthony has introduced bipartisan legislation with Rep. Marcia Fudge to help schools reopen safely by providing much-needed research on the role children play in transmitting the coronavirus. Anthony said: "Children and families across the country are facing significant challenges and disadvantages because of school closures, many of which have the potential to cause profound and lasting impacts on an entire generation of Americans. Reopening our schools this fall should be a top priority as we move forward in combatting the pandemic, and the information gathered from this study will allow us to do so in the safest manner possible." Congress approves Gonzalez-backed bill supporting first responders, families "The 'Safeguarding America’s First Responders Act' creates a presumption that if a first responder is diagnosed with the coronavirus within 45 days of their last day on the job, the Department of Justice will treat it as a line-of-duty incident and provide" Public Safety Officers Benefit program payments, cleveland.com reports.
Coronavirus update Like many states around the nation, Ohio is experiencing an uptick in the number of cases of the coronavirus. For the benefit of Northeast Ohio and all of the country, it's important that we listen to health experts and each do our part to minimize the risk of a resurgence of the virus. Anthony recommends that everyone stay up-to-date with the latest information from the Ohio Department of Health website.
The general election is fast approaching and Anthony is running to continue serving the people of Northeast Ohio. Please consider chipping in, if you can, to support positive change for Ohio's 16th District.
