Dear John,

We know Christian believers do not all agree on how government is handling the response to COVID-19. In light of that, we encourage all believers to exercise Christian deference to those who differ with them and to not allow differences with fellow church members to become a source of division and strife. Destroying Christian unity, especially within our local churches, is exactly what the devil would like to have happen. We encourage you to honor and submit to the pastoral leadership of your ministry even if you differ with their direction. With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love... (Eph. 4:2)  Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves; for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy... (Heb. 13:17).
