In just two weeks, we will begin collecting signatures to get on the ballot. Please let us know if you would like to volunteer to help. We are also beginning a push to collect for the fuel and fliers so that I can be out there, as much as possible during this time. If you have been considering a contribution, now would be a very good time, and would have a very real effect.

I have continued bringing my message about overspending on the military and how that affects programs that help people. This picture is from the Santa Rosa City Council, but I have also paid to promote the video from the Napa County Board of Supervisors on Facebook.
On Sunday I traveled outside of our district to Petaluma to attend the Progressive Festival. I spoke with Keith, who told me that between the VA and his Medicare coverage he cannot get care for his legs. When you have a medical system that preys on the sick, this is the result. Health care should not be for profit. No one should die because they cannot afford care. And our veterans deserve much better than this. Under a single payer system, no one will have to suffer because their insurance won't pay for their care, or from lack of coverage.

I am disappointed in Rep. Huffman. Here is an excerpt from the article: "To hear Huffman tell it, it’s because dairy farms and cattle ranches have existed at Point Reyes since the 1860s". You know what was there before the 1860's? Elk. Since this dairy farmer is concerned about the rent on their land, I would rather see a solution that leaves these precious elk alone and compensates the farmer for a portion of her rent.
I toured the area around the Philips 66 refinery in Rodeo. Thank you to Protect The Bay for hosting such an informative tour. I have a much deeper appreciation of the toxins created by this refinery and the effects on the surrounding communities. It was great to meet some folks from Idle No More, from the Sunflower Alliance and from Stand.earth. I found it amazing that communities like Rodeo are unincorporated and without city councils. Their only representation is the supervisor for their area, and that supervisor is connected to chemical companies and is pro-big oil, so there is basically no representation for these folks. Hold on Rodeo, representation is coming!

Here is our latest video about the Green New Deal and protecting our planet from the destabilization of our atmosphere known as climate change. This one is being promoted on Facebook now. I hope you enjoy it!
