There is no guarantee the federal government will be able to continue to pay its share of Medicaid expansion. If the federal government cannot pay for its share that means Missouri taxpayers will be on the hook to make up the difference with a massive tax increase or forced cuts in funding for schools, public safety and infrastructure.
Amendment 2 is bad for Missouri and is opposed by the Missouri Farm Bureau. MOFB President Blake Hurst said, “Pouring more taxpayer dollars into Medicaid without fixing the problems that are bankrupting rural hospitals will only make a bad situation worse. We need to find solutions that make healthcare more accessible and affordable, not just expand government further.”
Missouri taxpayers cannot afford this wolf in sheep’s clothing amendment. Medicaid expansion would take money away from our schools, and in the long term raise our taxes. This is wrong for Missouri. We are encouraging you to vote NO on Amendment 2 and share this information with your family, friends and social networks before you go to the polls on Tuesday.
