Due something, inspire justice. <[link removed]>

Friend –

Art and activism have long been complementary forces for change, interwoven throughout history as catalysts for justice and equality. Let's use art to create a community forum for one of the constitutional rights at the heart of our democracy – due process.

We hear a lot of talk about due process these days. The Trump administration's blatant disregard for due process has been evident in its cruel war on immigrants and attacks on our voting rights. At the same time, the deep-rooted injustices in our criminal legal system continue to undermine fairness and the promise of due process, regardless of race or income.

Advocating for our civil rights and liberties does not only happen through legal and legislative battles, but also through community advocacy, which can often be powerfully presented through art.

That's why we're launching a new, art-driven campaign called Due Something: Inspire Justice. <[link removed]>

Due Something: Inspire Justice is a statewide, multidisciplinary art contest that challenges young Pennsylvania creators, 18 – 30 years old, to create original work that makes the constitutional promise of due process visible, accessible, and impossible to ignore.

Artists are asked to explore the truths and aspirations of due process, especially as it pertains to fairness and civic participation, particularly within immigrant, Black, TLGBQ+, and historically excluded communities.

Winners will be announced on Thursday, May 14, during the inaugural "5/14 Due Process Day" presented by the ACLU of Pennsylvania – a day designed to educate and empower young people to know their rights and have a voice in our democracy.

Selected works will not only receive professional compensation but will also be featured as part of a large-scale public awareness campaign in Pennsylvania, amplifying young community voices.

We invite submissions and ask you to spread the word about the importance of due process to our civil liberties and freedoms.

Thanks for all you do.
