Our President delivered his first State of the Union address in his second term last night.
The State of the Union address has historically been a moment to report on the nation’s condition to Congress, highlight achievements, legislative priorities, and address major national issues to influence policy.
Trump did none of that. Instead, he delivered the longest State of the Union address ever, breaking his own record, stretching to one hour and forty-seven minutes, and packed with lies. Meanwhile, his approval rating is sinking.
He finally spoke on the affordability crisis, blaming Democrats for the weight Americans feel. But we know the truth.
One year into Trump's second term, Americans are suffering economically at the hands of Republicans' and Trump’s unethical policies. His “billionaire-first” economic agenda and trade wars have led to higher prices for everyday items, unaffordable health care, and the worst job market in years.
This is not a matter of opinion. It’s simply a fact, and we all feel it.
* Under Trump, households paid an estimated $2,120 more in 2025. That includes an estimated $310 more for groceries and $123 more on their electricity bills.
* U.S. consumers paid 95% of the costs of Trump’s unlawful tariffs.
* Trump is doubling health care premiums for 20 million Americans, and his health care agenda is predicted to kick 14 million people off their health care.
* 2025 was the worst year for job growth since 2004, excluding full-blown recessions.
Numbers don’t lie. Trump and Republicans are utterly failing every day Americans.
