Running for Congress isn't easy, but the reasons I'm in this fight make it all worthwhile.

I'm running for my daughters -- who looked around after the election in 2016 and wondered what had gone wrong. They were scared and angry, but they decided to stand up for their values and speak out for what's right.

I couldn't let them do it alone.

That's why I ran for state Assembly in 2018 and why I'm proud to be taking on Mike Garcia in November -- because our district deserves better than a rubber-stamp for the Trump agenda (unlike Mike, who has voted with Trump 100% of the time according to FiveThirtyEight).

I won't ever compromise my values -- or ignore the facts -- to serve a powerful political leader or curry favor with potential donors. I will stand up for what I believe.

I believe that Black Lives Matter, that health care is a human right, that your zip code shouldn't determine the quality of your child's public education, that no one should be evicted for losing their job during a pandemic. And I believe that the people of the 25th district deserve a representative who will fight for those values in Congress.
