John,
Last weekend, I attended a Voter Registration Block Party in Orange. The event was organized by two local high school students and focused on educating their neighbors about the voting process and empowering the youth vote.
At the event, I was inspired by these high school organizers. They demonstrated their deep, personal commitment to their community and our democratic process.
This civic engagement and grassroots organizing at the local community level is the cornerstone of our democracy. THAT’S WHY STAYING ENGAGED WITH PEOPLE IN THE DISTRICT IS SO IMPORTANT TO ME. ([link removed])
When I ran for Congress, I promised 10 town halls in all 10 counties by the end of 2019. I completed that promise by hosting 12 by December. And during COVID-19, I’ve adjusted by holding telephone town halls to ensure people can ask me questions and hear what I’m doing on their behalf while staying safe because I BELIEVE THAT PUBLIC SERVICE IS A TWO-WAY CONVERSATION.

For me, running for office has never been about the limelight or scoring partisan points, it’s about connecting with people. It’s about listening to their hopes, their fears, their dreams for their children, and the future they want to build for our country.
The contributions from grassroots donors make this type of conversation possible. WILL YOU MAKE A CONTRIBUTION RIGHT NOW TO SUPPORT OUR PEOPLE-FOCUSED OUTREACH EFFORTS?
