Friend,

I just wanted to say I really appreciate all your support.

These next few weeks are going to be really important. It's unusual because in the course of normal campaigns, most people don't perk up and pay attention until after Labor Day.

But this year has been anything but usual. It seems like every day there's something else demanding our attention, and it is all important. And yes, I know you're getting a ton of emails from everyone, including from my campaign. But your work – not just your donations – on everything from advocating to end racial injustice to making sure Mitch McConnell passes a COVID-19 relief bill – is what's keeping me motivated as we continue to fight for progress.

Now more than ever, these times demand our focus and our attention.

It's shameful that Mitch McConnell adjourned the Senate without passing a new COVID-19 relief bill. My top priority is making sure the people who are hurting from the pandemic get the aid they need, and fast. We can't take our eye off the ball for one second – our priority has got to be saving lives and livelihoods.

This election, more than any other I can remember, shows us the stark choice we can make as a country. We can stand together, listen to the experts about how to beat COVID-19, work together to make real change and end racial injustice and protect our health care – or we can let the extremists drive us apart and block any hope for real change.

It's never been more important to have you with me in this. I am so grateful for your support. I promise I'll always have your back.

–Senator Doug Jones
