Hey folks, I wanted to reach out one more time before the month ends and we close the books on July. Tonight at midnight is our next critical fundraising deadline, so I hope you’ll let me explain why your support matters more than ever before.
We’re now 95 days out from the general election, and through a widespread coalition of grassroots support, we have spent the last few months building a positive, forward-thinking, and powerful campaign to bring more progress to Mississippi.
We know what our state needs: Long-overdue Medicaid expansion and accessible, affordable health care, aid to our struggling rural hospitals, more financial relief for people put out of work by the COVID-19 pandemic, good-paying jobs and economic opportunities to keep our young people in the state, and a great public education for every child.
We need a leader in Washington D.C. who’s willing to be an independent voice for change, not simply vote in line with their party’s hyper-partisan agenda. And we need a leader who represents all Mississippians – not one who ignores injustice and glorifies symbols of our hateful past.
Cindy Hyde-Smith does not represent us. She hides from her constituents and ignores our calls for change. After stalling for months on coronavirus relief, Cindy Hyde-Smith is pushing a bill that hurts working families. And she continues to sit on the fence when it comes to removing Mississippi’s confederate statues from the U.S. Capitol.
My opponent believes the best days of Mississippi were in its difficult past. I say they’re ahead of us.
I’m ready to get to work and bring more progress to our state, but I can’t do it without you. We have three months left until voters make their voices heard in one of the most important elections in our lifetime. We have to make the most of them.
