We are so excited to welcome Deshaun Mars to the BYD team as Chair of our new Policy Committee!
Deshaun is the Director of Business Outreach at the NYC Department of Small Business Services. In this role, Deshaun leads the outreach team’s efforts on behalf of the agency to engage with entrepreneurs, business owners, community-based organizations, and chambers of commerce throughout New York City.
Prior to his work in city government, Deshaun held a number of different roles in the education and non-profit sectors, ranging from direct service to external affairs, at the Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation, Good Shepherd Services, and Teach For America – New York.
A graduate of Brown University, Deshaun is a proud New Yorker, born and raised in Central Brooklyn!
