He has worked to deliver more than $23 million back to communities across NY-02 to support critical public safety, environmental, and infrastructure improvements that will benefit residents for years to come. From sewer and water upgrades to road improvements, public safety equipment, and downtown revitalization efforts, these investments are helping modernize Long Island’s infrastructure, strengthen resilience, and support smart local growth. “Investing in Long Island’s infrastructure means investing in the safety, strength, and future of our communities,” Andrew said. “I will always fight to bring federal resources back home and make sure our local governments and first responders have what they need to serve Long Island families. My office is always here to help our community.” Andrew will continue working to deliver results that improve the quality of life and build a stronger future for Long Island. Learn More Here ANDREW IN THE NEWS Andrew Joins Fox News Sunday to Discuss DHS Shutdown Andrew joined Mike Emanuel on Fox News to discuss the importance of fully funding the Department of Homeland Security. He warned that a DHS shutdown would force Coast Guard, FEMA, TSA, Secret Service, and CISA personnel to go without pay, weakening our homeland security, and reiterated that the Senate should pass the House-passed full-year DHS funding bill to keep America safe. Watch Here WHAT'S NEW IN NY-02 Honoring 85 Years of the Coast Guard Reserve This week, Andrew was proud to recognize the 85th birthday of the United States Coast Guard Reserve. The Coast Guard Reserve plays a vital role in strengthening maritime security, supporting emergency response operations, and ensuring our waterways remain safe. Here on Long Island, where our coastal communities are central to daily life, the Reserve’s mission is especially important. Andrew is grateful for the Reservists who stand ready to serve when called and remains committed to supporting the Coast Guard’s critical work in protecting our shores and keeping our communities safe. Celebrating a New Small Business in Holbrook Andrew’s team was proud to attend the ribbon-cutting for Monarca Bar & Grill in Holbrook alongside members of the local community. Small businesses are the backbone of Long Island’s economy, creating local jobs, supporting families, and helping our downtowns thrive. Celebrations like this reflect the hard work that keeps our communities strong. Congratulations to the entire Monarca Bar & Grill team on their grand opening. Andrew and his office are always proud to support the small businesses that help make Long Island such a great place to live and work. Casework Highlight: Another win for a Long Island Taxpayer A Long Island constituent recently received long-awaited relief after experiencing delays with the IRS. Andrew’s office stepped in and worked directly with the Taxpayer Advocate Service to help move the case forward. Following this outreach, the IRS approved the constituent’s deductions and released the full refund. On February 9, the constituent received a direct deposit totaling $11,859, which included applicable interest. Andrew and his team look forward to helping more Long Islanders get the assistance they need. Whether it’s the VA, Social Security, Medicare, the IRS, passports, or other federal services, the office is always ready to step in and help. If you or someone you know needs assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Keeping Up with Congress Tax Season: Andrew's Helping Long Islanders Keep More of Their Paycheck As Long Islanders prepare to file their federal and state taxes, Andrew knows how frustrating it can be to see how much of your hard-earned money goes to taxes. That frustration is especially real here on Long Island, where property taxes and everyday costs remain among the highest in the country. That is why Andrew has focused on delivering meaningful tax relief for the families and seniors he represents. He fought to quadruple the State and Local Tax deduction from $10,000 to $40,000, providing long-overdue relief for Long Islanders who were hit hardest by the cap. Before you file, make sure you check what you may qualify for: Higher SALT Deduction – Increased by $40,000 to deliver relief for Long Island families. Child Tax Credit Expansion – Up to $2,200 per child to help working parents. Tax Relief for Seniors – New $6,000 individual and $12,000 couple deduction. Middle-Class Tax Relief – Families earning $55,000 to $80,000 will see up to a 15 percent average tax cut. No Tax on Tips or Overtime – Saves workers nearly $2,000 per year. Support for Small Businesses – Doubles expensing to help local employers grow. Before filing, visit IRS.gov or consult your tax advisor to see what deductions and credits you may qualify for this tax season. If you run into issues with the IRS, Andrew’s office is always here to help Long Islanders get answers and results. Thanks for reading! Do you know someone who might like to receive these updates?
