On Monday, the Democratic National Committee's Platform Committee voted to reject Medicare for All from the party's draft platform.
The committee voted 125-36 to block M4A despite the overwhelming support from voters across the political spectrum. The panel also rejected proposals to expand Medicare to children, and to all people over 55.
The DNC has made it clear that donors and lobbyists are their priorities, not the people. Even as our country is wrecked by an unprecedented pandemic, they refuse to stand up for single payer healthcare.

Over 85% of Democrats, and the majority of voters across the spectrum, support Medicare for All. It’s time to look beyond the parties who give us the cold shoulder.
Thankfully, we don’t need a party’s draft platform to know where we stand. Every BNC candidate supports universal, single payer healthcare. Unlike the majority of Congress, they don’t take a dime from big pharma, insurance, and other corporate PACs. They won’t bow to lobbyists' pressure.
Candidates like Cori Bush, Eva Putzova, and Rashida Tlaib will fight for our interests and not the interests of the billionaires. They will champion true progressive reforms and real change that will save millions of lives.
