Last night, over 800 NIAC friends, supporters, and allies joined us for our first ever Virtual Gala and Fundraiser to reflect on all we've done in the past seven months and the important work that lies ahead in 2020.

Dear John,

Last night, over 800 NIAC friends, supporters, and allies joined us for our first ever Virtual Gala and Fundraiser to reflect on all we've done in the past seven months and the important work that lies ahead in 2020.

From making moves with our allies to forever repeal the Muslim ban, to blocking Trump's attempts to start a with with Iran, we loved having the chance to celebrate all of YOU for your support and advocacy. And thanks to the generosity of our members, we hit our fundraising goal before the end of the night!

But not only did we get to celebrate our community, we also had the chance to honor and give thanks to some of the Iranian-American community's biggest champions. Make sure to check out their acceptance speeches below!

Lt. Gov. Cyrus Habib
Leadership Award
Dr. Kamran Tabaddor
Legacy Award
Congresswoman Barbara Lee
Courage Award
Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal
Equitable Immigration Champion Award
Maziar & Shahab Farivar
NIAC's Community Impact Award
Congressman Ro Khanna

A HUGE thanks goes to our amazing speakers, including author and media personality Reza Aslan; Florida House of Representative Anna V. Eskamani; former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Iran Ambassador John Limbert; former Ploughshares President Joe Cirincione; Salt Lake City Council Member Shireen Ghorbani; author and journalist Hooman Majd; and journalist Negar Mortazavi

We'll be sending out a highlight reel of the event in the coming days—but if you just can't wait then check out a full recording of the Gala here!

Again, thanks to all of you who attended and helped us hit our mid-year fundraising goal. But our work is only starting as we approach the most important election of our lives. If you haven’t yet, will you join the over 2,000 Iranian Americans and allies who have contributed to NIAC this year so we can mobilize our community this election and ensure our voices are heard?

We can’t do this work without you, thanks so much from our whole team for all that you do.

With gratitude,
