Everyone's invited -- except Koch billionaires.

Friend,

We have a midnight deadline tonight, and we're behind in fundraising against our likely opponent.

Donald Trump has turned on the faucet for national Republican fundraising in House districts across the country -- including Minnesota's 3rd. We will never take dark money, but it's already pouring into this race on the other side. That's why we're depending on you: Will you invest in this race with a donation of $5 or more before tonight's midnight end-of-month deadline?

If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately

Though we're just behind our opponents in terms of fundraising, there's one big difference between our fundraising numbers and theirs: I haven't taken a dime from PACs, special interests, or lobbyists. They'll take whatever they can get.

And they're taking a lot: Last election cycle, Americans for Prosperity Action -- the Koch brothers-funded super PAC -- dumped almost $150,000 into defeating me. This year's race has barely started to heat up, and they've already put in a few more thousand dollars to try again.

This is how dark money works: They funnel more and more money into races across the country to defeat folks like me, in an effort to elect people who will follow that money with favorable votes in Congress. My opponent is happy to do that -- but that's not how I work.

I vote for the people in the 3rd district, not for the dark-money interests that want to control us and the way our democracy works. That's why I have always invited grassroots donations from folks like you who want to build something better, together -- and always will.

That's what this end-of-month goal is all about. It's a real one, with real consequences -- and if we don't meet it, fending off these dark-money attacks will be that much harder.

We're just $5,674 short of our $20,000 goal. Will you chip in $5 or more right now, and show the Koch brothers that we're a campaign where everyone's invited?

Well, I should clarify: Everyone's invited, except shadowy billionaires trying to buy influence. They're definitely not invited.

With gratitude,

Dean Phillips
