When I first ran for the Ohio House in 2018, a Democrat hadn’t held my seat in over a decade.

And in the years since, from defeating the August 2023 Issue 1 power grab to working to protect reproductive freedom through a constitutional amendment, I’ve led our efforts in Columbus to put voters — not politicians — back in control.

Flipping a seat isn’t a new challenge for me. And the fact that the Ohio Secretary of State’s office has been held by a Republican for almost two decades doesn’t scare me.

But when Trump’s DOJ is pressuring our elected officials to pass laws that put Ohioans’ ability to have their vote counted in jeopardy, it makes the race to flip our Secretary of State’s office all the more important.

Friend, the Secretary of State’s office is the most important statewide office for making long-term change and protecting the will of the people, so having someone in the office who knows how to advocate for voters in front of and maneuver around the Ohio legislature like I have is our best way to strengthen our elections for years to come.
