*Trump Effort to Rein In Social Media Moves Forward [ [link removed] ]*

The Trump administration moved forward with plans to regulate content on social-media platforms Monday, formally asking federal regulators to start overseeing how these platforms treat user-generated content. In a petition to the Federal Communications Commission, the Commerce Department called for an FCC rule-making to reinterpret key elements of Section 230 of the 1996 Communications Decency Act. That provision has given online companies broad immunity from legal liability for their users' actions, and wide latitude to police content on their sites.



*Women inventors are sticking with it, patent office says [ [link removed] ]*

The percentage of women inventors filing additional patents within five years of their first is on the rise. Data from the United States Patent and Trademark Office shows improvement in the patent field for women since the 1980s. Back then, only 28% of women filed another patent within five years of their first, compared with 38% of men. In 2019, that number has jumped to 46% of women, compared with 52% of men, showing that the gender gap is narrowing.

The Trump administration is prepared to cut more red tape to ensure government projects are completed faster and more efficiently. Quicker approval times would be critical as the administration has reportedly been weighing a $1 trillion infrastructure plan. What's been happening is with the massive federal regulations on top of state, everything was done sequentially, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross told FOX Business Stuart Varney.
