John, I’m excited to share our
latest endorsement with you today:
Leaders We Deserve is officially endorsing Julio Salinas for TX HD-41.
[ [link removed] ]Julio Salinas for Texas House District 41
Julio is an inspiring young leader who represents the future of Texas. As
Democrats continue to gain ground in Texas, we have a real opportunity to
elect bold, progressive Dems who can push the state forward and hold the
line against MAGA extremism. But if we let “Democrats in name only” — like
Julio’s opponent — continue to deceive voters to win in a blue district,
we will lose the chance to flip Texas for Democrats in the future.

Julio was raised in the Rio Grande Valley. His father was the second
youngest of nine siblings who traveled as migrant farmworkers from New
York to California before eventually settling in the Valley. Drawn by the
promise of opportunity, his dad earned an education, built a career in
local journalism, bought a home, and provided a modest middle-class life.
But today, it seems the RGV is falling behind.
Julio is running to rebuild community, restore opportunity, and put
working families first. He is running to represent his neighbors, because
he’s ready to fight for:
* Investments in education, so every child can succeed.
* Access to affordable healthcare and mental health services.
* Good jobs and strong labor protections, so hard work once again pays
off.

Leaders We Deserve elect more young progressive candidates in Texas and
across the country.
John, here’s
why this race matters so much:
Julio’s only opponent, Seby Haddad, is a Republican running as a Democrat.
Seby is a former Republican McAllen City Commissioner and banking
executive. Just last month, he attended a Tea Party meeting. He is close
to Commissioner Rodolfo “Rudy” Castillo, who surrendered to federal
authorities in October 2025 after being recorded talking about bribing
Mexican police officers to illegally import goods.
Let me be clear: HD-41 is a safe blue seat. But if we’re not paying
attention, a conservative “Democrat in name only” can easily walk right
through the door, risking a future majority in Texas. We cannot afford to
stop investing in Democrats in the Rio Grande Valley because it is an area
critical to securing victories statewide. It also could be the reason that
the Republican gerrymander in Texas backfires if voters there come back to
Democrats. That can only happen if we give voters candidates they truly
believe in and feel represented by.
Julio is refusing corporate PAC money — just like all of our LWD
candidates. He is running to work for the people. But we know that means
he can only win if the people boost his campaign with the real, tangible
grassroots support that it needs.
I know we can win this fight and keep building power in Texas. This work
will have generational impacts — but it will only happen if we invest in
our future leaders.
