I know what it takes to win a tough race. Like Gina, I came up just short the
first time I ran for Congress. But I knew my district needed better
representation in Washington, so I ran again. Since then, I’ve won four
hard-fought, competitive elections.

I know that Gina has what it takes to flip TX-23 this November. That’s why I’m
emailing you today -- because if we’re going to send a fighter for South and
West Texas to Congress next year, it’s going to take all of us giving it our
all.

TX-23 is Democrats’ best chance in the country to flip a seat and expand our
House majority. But special interests and dark money groups are well aware of
how vulnerable this seat is to flipping, which is why they’ll spend millions to
stop Gina’s momentum.

I need Gina as a partner in Congress fighting to expand access to quality,
affordable health care, to bring good-paying jobs to South and West Texas, and
to invest in an economy that works for all Americans.

But if we’re going to ensure TX-23 has the responsible leadership it deserves,
