Look—I know you get a lot of emails from campaigns at the end of the month. And even I admit that sometimes I scroll through my packed inbox and think: Not again...

Team, I promise I’ll never email you asking for money without a good reason. You get a lot of emails at the end of the month because, well, that’s how grassroots campaigns budget. When you count on people chipping in a little bit here and there, these monthly deadlines are important. What we put on the books at the end of each month decides, in a very concrete way, the shape our campaign will take.

Your donation could make the difference between August being a springboard for this campaign—or a slump. And going up against Mitch McConnell and his dirty special-interest friends, we need to keep up the pace. Will you chip in before our August deadline?

I get excited when I talk about meeting our budget goals, because when we do, that’s when we get to build.

In the months ahead, we’re going to be focused on building out our field operation. And if you know me, you know I don’t listen to what the pundits say about where we should compete. We want to put organizers on the ground and open offices wherever we can, even where (especially where) folks don’t often see a campaign knocking at their door.

That’s the only way you beat someone like Mitch McConnell. He’s been in office for decades, and it’s a safe bet they’ll try to drown us out on TV with nasty attacks. While the other side spends millions smearing us, this team will be fighting back by talking to real voters (and on the airwaves, too)...

Simply put, at the end of this month, the future of our grassroots operation comes into play—in a big way.

It matters that we stay on track. Before Saturday, can you help us close the books on August and set this campaign up for success?
