Hi John,
Since Susan Collins entered the Senate in 1997, the cost of a vial of insulin has increased from $17 to $300 -- a 1,665% increase.
In the 23 years since Collins took office, she has talked a lot about how important helping people with diabetes is to her. But when you look at the numbers, the truth is perfectly clear: Collins does not come through for her constituents when it counts. As a Senator, Susan Collins is ineffective at delivering the help we need, and it’s time we repeal and replace her with someone who will advocate for Mainers: Sara Gideon.
While Susan Collins has left Mainers behind, she has spent a lot of time fighting for special interests. Collins has accepted money from Big Pharma, and then voted their way on important pieces of legislation at the expense of Mainers.
For example, Collins has taken more than $100,000 from the corporate PACs for the nation’s biggest opioid distributors, and she’s voted to block penalties for opioid companies that illegally marketed and distributed their products.
Or like how she voted against cracking down on back-room deals between pharmaceutical companies that delay access to cheaper generic drugs… She has accepted more than $450,000 in donations from the pharmaceutical industry.
After 24 years in the Senate, we expect to see someone looking to protect patients, not profits. Click here and donate to help the Maine Dems defeat Susan Collins and elect Democrats up and down the ballot!
Best,
Lisa
