The Bureau of Justice Statistics seeks a senior statistician. Job duties include


* providing statistical advice and guidance on BJSs efforts to establish, maintain, and revise national justice statistical programs
* planning, preparing, coordinating, and disseminating data and information in very broad and technically complex subject-matter areas
* providing technical direction to BJS staff related to project designs, specification of data processing and tabulation protocols, data analysis, report production and dissemination, and public-use data archival
* ensuring the appropriateness of the methodologies used for the collection of criminal justice data conducted either in-house or under contract arrangement with outside entities.
