The DC Chapter Development team meets twice a month -- the Monday prior to the Chapter meeting, and two weeks after that. Volunteers at all levels are welcome to join and participate!
What: CCL DC Chapter Development Team Meeting When: Monday, August 3, 6:00-7:00pm EDT Where: Zoom (RSVPfor details)
Join Eco.Logic, Citizens' Climate Lobby, and the Environmental Voter Project to increase the number of environmentalists who vote.
The phone banking will involve a brief training followed by calling environmentalists to encourage them to sign up to vote-by-mail. By calling these environmentalists now - while they're likely to be home - we are greatly increasing the chances of their signing up for vote-by-mail and actually voting in their upcoming elections. To participate, all you'll need is a computer or tablet and a (cellphone or landline) phone.
What: Phone Banking with the Environmental Voter Project When: Tuesday, August 4, 6:30-8:00pm EDT Where: Zoom (RSVP for details)
Join Citizens' Climate Lobby to multiply our efforts on climate change. We will plan upcoming events, and advance our efforts with Conservative Outreach, Student Outreach, Congressional Advocacy, and Movement Building. Don't miss this conversation with like-minded climate advocates!
What: CCL DC Chapter Meeting When: Saturday, August 8, 11-12:30pm EDT Where: Zoom (RSVPfor details)
CCL invites you to a webinar with Dr. Kim Cobb, a professor at the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Georgia Tech. Dr. Cobb is among a growing number of scientists who are stepping out of the lab to apply their research on climate change to advocate for solutions. CCL holds a webinar with a climate expert to provide new insights every month.
What: CCLAugust Monthly Meeting with Dr. Kim Cobb When: Saturday, August 8, 1:00-2:00pm EDT Where: Zoom (RSVP for details)
Volunteer opportunity: Our chapter's Communications team is underway! We are still in need of volunteers to (1) engage with folks on Facebook, (2) create simple graphics for events like the ones above, and (3) wherever else you see a communications gap. Please reach out to Debbie if you're interested.
