Already a whopping 2000 of us have signed the petition to stop the debt vultures from swooping in on countries in crisis. While millions of people globally are trapped in poverty because of the debt crisis, debt vultures are draining national budgets, taking away resources from schools, hospitals, and essential public services.
And the UK government can do something about it. 90% of debt contracts for lower-income countries are governed by English law – this means Ethiopia could be sued by debt vultures through the UK’s High Court. This is outrageous and it's up to us to make a stand.
