Dear Friend,
We're in a moment when our worst demons are ascending - the worst of our nation's past being lifted up as our future.
In the midst of this crisis, I believe we all face a choice. Between our better angels and our worst demons. Between the politics of Jesus and what I call anti-Christ politics-politics that are antithetical to everything Jesus valued, taught and modeled for his followers.
That's why I wrote Christ in Crisis: Why We Need to Reclaim Jesus.

At a time when the news is filled with images of torch-bearing white nationalists, children torn from the arms of loving parents, and a president whose whose malice seemingly knows no bounds, how do we become the kind of people who can see clearly enough to move our nation, and the world, forward?
I wrote this book as a guide for people like you to navigate this moment of crisis.
As I said in last week's SojoMail column, some early readers are already calling it the most important book I've ever written. While I'm grateful for that kind of feedback, here's what's even more important in these troubling times.
All of us must summon the inner strength and moral clarity to fight our nation's worst demons with the way of Jesus. To meet lies with the truth. To love our neighbors - those who are different than us - as we love ourselves. To lift up those who Christ called "the least of these."
In the midst of our crisis, I believe we need to reclaim Jesus.
In Christ,
Jim Wallis
