Hi! It's Jamilla.

There are a lot of stories I could tell you about my dad. Some of them you may know, some of them you may not know. But when I think about the biggest lessons he’s taught me and my brothers throughout our lives, I think about how he taught us the importance of a good name.

Proverbs 22:1 says that “A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches.” The way my dad always explained it, one’s good name is what people think of you when they haven’t met you before. He instilled in us the importance of doing good work behind the scenes, not for accolades or for notoriety.

My dad has been following this life lesson throughout the pandemic. He can’t be out shaking hands and kissing babies in person like he wants to, so he is working hard to meet Mississippians in new ways. In the past three months alone, our campaign has hosted over a dozen virtual events, held Zoom meet-and-greets in nearly every region, and launched a virtual volunteer kick-off.

That’s the kind of leader we should have in the U.S. Senate representing all Mississippians: Someone who loves Mississippi, and who will work hard to reach everyone and bring our state together.

Will you chip in $10 for the first time, or whatever you can, to help elect Mike Espy to the U.S. Senate, where he’ll continue to do good work for all Mississippians? We have less than 48 hours to meet our $150,000 end-of-month fundraising goal.
