John,
The challenge in front of us in this election doesn’t come with a playbook.
Because of COVID-19, life around us has changed the way we all do things, and that includes how we vote.
This year, more people than ever will vote by mail -- many for the first time. For us, that means our on-the-ground organizing priorities must shift into uncharted territory. We’ll need to put in a lot of work to help voters cast their absentee ballots.
That’s why our July fundraising deadline is a big one -- we can’t wait too long to start our efforts to get out the vote during a pandemic, and we’re counting on this team to come through. After going over the budget with my team, we’re setting a goal of reaching 200 more online donations before tomorrow night’s deadline -- will you chip in to help reach that grassroots goal?

Educating voters on how to vote absentee won’t be an easy task. We’ve already seen the Trump administration’s efforts to scare people away from voting by mail. They’ve even made false claims about widespread fraud when it comes to voting by mail (all while so many of these people vote by mail themselves in every single election).
Let me be clear: Trump’s scare tactics and lies won’t stop us from helping voters navigate the process of voting by mail. It just might make it a little more difficult.
So today I’m asking you to make a donation before tomorrow’s deadline so we can plan out exactly how much we have to spend on our efforts to get out the vote:
