Hello,

This week, we celebrated the life of Congressman John Lewis. From Alabama to D.C, across the Edmund Pettus Bridge and up the Capitol's steps, we traveled through Congressman Lewis's history and honored his legacy.

Congressman Lewis found his final resting place in Atlanta, Georgia, where his funeral was held today. We have lost a legend, friend, but we haven't lost the fight.

It was Congressman Lewis who said, "Nothing can stop the power of a committed and determined people to make a difference in our society."

He said, "Ours is not the struggle of one day, one week, or one year...each one of us in every generation must do our part."

And it was he who said, "Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America."

Congressman Lewis's lifelong fight for justice is our fight, too. We must persevere and continue calling for change, not only to celebrate Congressman Lewis — but for each other. There is more all of us can do to help make our democracy stronger, and I hope in the upcoming months, you take part in the battle for the soul of this nation.

In fact, you can start today, friend. If you haven't yet, please sign the petition in Congressman Lewis's honor to demand the Senate expand voting rights and pass the Voting Rights Advancement Act. >> [link removed]

Collectively, we will win,
