John,
There are a lot of things I could tell you about the two decades I served in the Navy conducting operations in the Middle East and Western Pacific -- but really, it boils down to a pretty simple philosophy: Be Good. Do Good Work.
It's the motto that drove me to run against former Republican Congressman Scott Taylor, who time and time again used his position to help special interests and harm Coastal Virginians.
And it's the same motto that drives my work in Congress now, where I wrote the 3rd most laws of any House member (while getting bipartisan cosponsors on the 4th most bills) and was ranked the 3rd most effective member of the House overall in just my first year.
I'm ready to do more Good Work -- but national Republicans will spend millions to help Taylor take this seat back, and polling shows that their efforts are paying off (the race is TIED!). I just checked in with my team and we still need 96 donors to chip in before our end-of-month fundraising deadline hits tomorrow night - can I count on you?

We know Scott's not afraid to play dirty. Two of his former staffers were indicted for their illegal attempts to boost a third-party candidate to try and help him win -- and Scott himself is still under criminal investigation for his potential involvement!
There's no telling what he'll do to win, and we need to make sure we're prepared for whatever they throw at us.
Thank you for stepping up,
Elaine
