John,
It’s Monica – 350’s Finance Director. I wanted to share an update on our fundraising progress this month because I know that the long-term health of our movement is important to you.
Last month, we used the majority of our online resources to fundraise for racial justice and COVID-19 relief organizations. In fact, we raised $110,629.82 for bail funds and Black-led organizations.
That was absolutely the right call and we’re so proud of that number – but it put us behind on our own fundraising efforts. We’re $15,000 short on our monthly goal for July and we’re asking for your help to close the gap before tomorrow’s deadline. Our average online donation is $20.11, so we’re asking 746 people to step up and chip in whatever they can.
Our team has been organizing hard to meet moments of crisis and stand together across movements to defend Black lives, lobby for a just recovery from COVID-19, and hold our leaders accountable for climate justice through 2020.
We’re getting ready to launch an exciting get-out-the-vote program in these final 100 days until the election in addition to our Solidarity School series. We are hosting monthly mass calls designed for folks looking to grow and expand their skill set in this moment of uprising and climate justice organizing.
How ambitious we’re able to be with these plans depends entirely on whether we’re able to stay on track and meet our benchmarks including tomorrow’s end-of-month deadline.
Thank you so much for being a part of our movement. Your contributions power our work and allow us to keep fighting for progress.
Let’s finish strong here,
Monica
