John, by now you’ve probably seen Trump’s tweet from this morning:
Let’s be clear here: This is a dangerous and pathetic attempt by Trump to save his sinking campaign by dragging our democracy down with him.
He’s trying to destroy the US Postal Service in order to limit mail-in voting. He’s trying to politicize the very act of voting by mail by claiming (without a shred of evidence) that it leads to voter fraud. Now, he’s saying we need to delay his election until people can “safely vote.”
This is beyond hypocritical coming from someone who downplays coronavirus on a daily basis. Let’s not forget there’s a bill sitting on McConnell’s desk right now called the HEROES Act which was written to help the American people vote safely in November.
We need to defeat Trumpism at every level of government. That starts with electing a new president, but it also means defeating his allies in Congress and preventing them from picking up any steam in the race for the House:
