# [#]Regulating methane is critical in our fight against climate change. I’ve proudly led this work in Congress by advancing detection and mitigation technologies, modernizing infrastructure repair standards, and strengthening regulations on the oil and gas industry.

But, the Trump Administration is pressuring our international partners to exempt U.S. oil and gas from the EU’s methane emission regulations – jeopardizing our hard-fought climate protections and undermining global energy security.

My colleagues and I have publicly urged the EU to uphold strong methane standards and not give in to Trump’s demands, but I’m not done fighting there.

We must flip the House this year if we’re going to put a stop to Trump’s attacks and continue our climate progress – but it’s going to take a lot of work.
