John, I’ve been a pioneer for my entire career.
I was a year old when the Naval Academy, my eventual alma mater, began admitting women.
I was 18 when women were finally allowed to serve on U.S. combatant ships, and I later became one of the first female sailors to spend the entirety of my naval career aboard combatant ships.

I was one of the first women accepted to the Navy Nuclear Program, and in 2018, I was part of the largest wave of women ever elected to Congress.
Being a pioneer is never easy. Ask any woman who’s worked in a STEM field or broken into a male-dominated profession how many times she’s been disrespected, underestimated, and overlooked.
I refused to let it break me. I was damn good at my job, and I spent 20 years making history while serving my country.
I’m preparing to make history again by helping Democrats take back VA-02 and the House majority in November. Will you invest in my campaign so I can once again serve my community and country on Capitol Hill?
In Congress, I fought to address the challenges faced by women in the Armed Forces and female veterans. These problems are frequently swept under the rug, but that only made me more determined to make our military safer for women.
That’s what pioneers do: brave hostile terrain to clear a path for those who follow.
Sadly, our current military leaders are reviving the “good old boys” mentality I dealt with 30+ years ago. They’re driving away talented women from service and making us less safe in the process.
My opponent here in VA-02 is also a female veteran, yet she’s done absolutely nothing to stop “anti-woke” culture warriors from harassing real warriors in our Armed Forces.
That's the difference between us. I’m no fair-weather friend, John. I’m a fighter to the end.
When I return to Congress, I’ll pick up exactly where I left off. Will you contribute a few bucks to help me defeat my flip-flopper opponent and fight for the dignity of women who serve?
With you,
Elaine Luria
