New funding in COVID-19 emergency response legislation will enable public transit systems to maintain safe operations and enable essential employees to reach work and help their communities through the pandemic.
Public transit is playing a vital role right now. It brings healthcare workers to the frontlines and connects other essential workers to their places of work, while helping communities rebuild their economies. The recent spike in cases is resulting in additional costs and lost revenues for public transit systems.
