A lot of folks are raising the alarm about interference in the midterm elections right now — and I agree that we should all be concerned.

Let’s start here: It’s obvious that Donald Trump would like to interfere in our elections.

He’s made that abundantly clear — from his recent comments about nationalizing the election to seizing 2020 ballots from the Fulton County election office.

Then we have people like Steve Bannon saying the administration should send ICE agents to polling places — and Karoline Leavitt publicly not ruling it out.

And frankly, we can’t trust Mike Johnson to stop this kind of anti-democratic interference, because he was the legal architect behind Trump’s effort to overturn the election results in 2020!

So that’s all pretty terrifying. But here’s the good news: Our election system is very resilient. The fact that election administration is distributed across each state and each county makes it much harder for Trump to be able to get in the way.

There are two main things I think we need right now to put an end to this:

First, we need more Republicans to stand up to Trump and reject these kinds of un-American threats. I’m glad some GOP Members of Congress have spoken out — but it’s not enough. They have the power to stop this, and they have to do more.

Second — and much more in our control than hoping congressional Republicans grow a spine — we need to win by such a huge margin that they can’t possibly overturn the results.

And I believe we can do it. What we’ve seen in every single special election since 2024 is that people very clearly understand what this administration is up to, and they want a check on Donald Trump’s power.

But it won’t happen on its own. We need to put in the work. That’s what my campaign team and I are focused on right now — building out our plans to win my election, support Democratic colleagues in tough races, and power Democratic challengers aiming to flip key seats.
