Dear Friend On Monday afternoon, I asked Brooke Tansill to marry me. She said yes, and I will be forever grateful.  I am writing to you this morning because many of you received my first email in January 2018 when we launched a campaign to strengthen the American Dream in Arlington--a dream you helped make possible--and because I wanted to share this moment with you, since you have been and are important to me.  Brooke Tansill and I earlier this year.  2020 has put in question our faith in the American Dream--the simple idea that justice should be achievable and real for everyone in Arlington, Virginia, and our country. I cannot take away the pain from this year and I am very mindful that some of you receiving this may be hurting. Please know you are not alone.  Brooke and I on Monday afternoon, after I asked the question. But I do want to remind you that hope is real, that there will be better days ahead, and share with you that my heart is full this morning because of you and because of Brooke. Together, you give me hope and happiness, faith and determination.
