Time is running out to save Bristol Bay.
Time is running out to save Bristol Bay.

Dear John,

Did you hear that the Pebble Mine Final Environmental Impact Statement hit the streets? It’s missing basic science and fails to protect Bristol Bay, the greatest salmon fishery on the planet. But the mine may get approved anyway.

Can you tell the EPA to stop Pebble Mine now?

Tell EPA to Veto the Pebble Mine
One scientist said this week: “The EIS fails to meet even a low bar for scientific credibility."

George Alexie, President of the Nondalton Tribal Council in Bristol Bay, called the process “shameful.” “The (U.S.) Army Corps did everything they could to keep local people out of the process,” Alexie said.

It’s time for EPA to veto this mine. Can you tell the agency to veto it today?

Guido Rahr, CEO of Wild Salmon Center, said: “This mine is indefensible.”

This is the moment to speak up. Pebble could get its federal Clean Water Act permit in as little as 30 days and EPA has the authority to stop it.
Yours from Alaska,
Emily Anderson
Alaska Director
