Great news! President Trump signed bipartisan legislation I introduced into law.
It will extend eligibility for American Legion membership to honorably discharged veterans who served since World War II. President Trump also signed legislation I introduced into law that helps veterans achieve homeownership.
Last month, I visited the southern border with Vice President Pence.

I also introduced the Justice for Victims of Sanctuary Cities Act.
My legislation is co-sponsored by Senators Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz and it holds sanctuary jurisdictions accountable for failing to comply with lawful detainer and release notification requests made by federal authorities and jeopardizing public safety. Lastly, I announced an additional $168 million for North Carolina disaster recovery.
Although relief after a natural disaster can never come soon enough, North Carolinians will now have additional resources that we fought hard to secure so that our state can rebuild more resiliently.
