Wood-Based Meat?
North Carolina-based company Arbiom is testing and developing a new plant-based protein from fermented and broken down wood. Arbiom's CEO Marc Chevrel said this new ingredient will be both nutritious and sustainable, being made from dead trees and scrap wood that would otherwise be thrown away. Read more about this potential new protein substitute here.
Fun fact
Research has shown that the living conditions of pigs influences their moods. Just like humans, pigs raised in healthier environments show much more optimism about their futures than pigs raised in worse conditions.
