We’re thrilled to share that yesterday, both of Vote Pro-Choice’s first endorsed candidates of 2026 won their special elections:

Elizabeth Bennett-Parker won her race for Virginia State Senate (District 39). A staunch champion for reproductive rights throughout her tenure in the House of Delegates, she’ll continue to fight for pro-choice values in the Senate.

Kirk McPike won his race for Virginia House of Delegates (District 5), stepping up to the state legislature after earning our endorsement for Alexandria City Council in 2024, where he led efforts to protect abortion access and reproductive healthcare in the wake of the Dobbs decision.
As the federal government continues to push autocratic, extremist policies, these wins send a clear message: voters are ready to elect leaders who respect our fundamental freedoms.
And we’re not slowing down!
Today, we’re proud to announce our next endorsement: Sandy Marks for Alexandria City Council.
As a longtime Democratic leader and community advocate, Sandy understands that local leaders shape our daily lives. Her election would also create the first majority-female City Council in Alexandria’s 276 year history.
We build pro-choice power one race at a time. In 2023, we flipped the Virginia House of Delegates to pro-choice control. In 2025, we built on that majority. In 2026, voters will have the opportunity to enshrine abortion rights into the state constitution.
