From the start of this campaign, I told you that whenever we ask you for money, we’ll let you know why -- because this effort belongs to you.

In the last few weeks, thanks to you, we’ve hired two organizers. Next week, we’ll kick off our big petition signature drive to ensure we make it on the ballot.

Our monthly fundraising deadline is coming up this week, and we’re hoping to raise enough money to make sure we hit all our signature-collection targets.

There’s a lot of work ahead of us, and we’re counting on our amazing group of volunteers. What we need to fund this month might not be shiny and exciting, but it’s extremely important, because we want our volunteers to be fed, hydrated, caffeinated, and equipped with the materials needed to get out and talk to voters.

Yes, I’m emailing you asking for a donation to help cover the cost of pizza, donuts, coffee, pins, pens, and clipboards. When you’re trying to collect thousands of signatures to qualify for the ballot, the little things matter. (And the budget adds up.)

Can you chip in today before the end-of-month fundraising deadline to make sure our volunteer operation is ready to hit the ground?
