Thousands of you spoke out
and helped stop this hate!
Dear Friend,
The White House just pulled the nomination of Anthony Tata to join senior leadership at the Pentagon after the Senate canceled his hearing this morning. Why? Because senators from both parties didn’t want to take a vote on one of the most brazenly anti-Muslim and anti-Black nominees in recent memory.
This victory shows that naked bigotry can still be disqualifying in Washington, but only when people of conscience organize to hold Congress accountable.
In partnership with VoteVets, the NAACP, SPLC, Center for Disability Rights and other allies, Muslim Advocates hosted a press call urging senators to oppose Tata’s nomination, organized a statement of opposition with over 50 civil rights groups, and activated thousands of advocates like you to contact their senators through our online action.
We're not out of the woods yet. Anthony Tata still works with the Department of Defense and President Trump has repeatedly shown his willingness to undermine the authority of the Senate by unilaterally installing controversial and unqualified people in an acting capacity.
We will continue to fight anti-Muslim and anti-Black bigotry in all its forms. And we’ll need you by our side.
