This is not going to be one of those emails where I compare our fundraising deadline hitting tomorrow night to an actual crisis.
Yes, I have an extremist right-wing opponent who is sure to be one of Trump's top allies in Congress gunning for my seat, and yes, she has the backing of some of the GOP's biggest donors.
(And yes, I'm going to ask you to chip in $10, $15, $25, or whatever you can because my team needs to bring in $9,250 by the end of the month so we can have the resources to stay ahead.)

But that's not an actual crisis -- It's our country that is in a moment of crisis.
We're facing the enormous impacts of a global pandemic that has intensified the pain of millions of Americans who were already struggling to hold on to their health care, save up for retirement, make ends meet, and pay off their student loans.
We're facing the consequences of a president who is psychologically incapable of putting the facts before his own ego -- enabled by the inaction of Republican lawmakers who either fully support him or are too cowardly to stand against him.
We're staring down the existential threat of a climate crisis that we needed to tackle 30 years ago, which will cost our grandchildren the habitable planet they deserve if we fail to act immediately.
Our nation is facing problems that need solutions NOW, not when it becomes politically easy. That's why I am personally asking you to make a donation today so that we can hold Trump accountable, fight global warming, expand access to affordable health care, and strengthen Medicare and Social Security →

We don't need even more far-right extremism in Congress. We need leaders who will let facts, evidence, and reason guide them so that we can build a brighter and better future for all Americans.
Thank you (and sorry for talking your ear off),
