The House voted to save the child care industry but we still need the Senate to act.  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Thanks to you, the House of Representatives passed a bipartisan bill to save child care. Now the Senate must act – take action today!

Dear John -

We’ve got great news to report. Yesterday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Child Care is Essential Act with strong, bipartisan support!

This would not have happened without the ongoing work of activists like you. Thank you!!!

Since March, Save the Children Action Network (SCAN) supporters have sent more than 100,000 messages to their members of Congress. Volunteers met with dozens of congressional offices (virtually, of course!) to make the case that we must save the child care industry.

Because of your activism, lawmakers listened!

This was a significant milestone, but we’re not done yet. The Senate has started working on their next economic relief package – the HEALS Act. We need to ensure that whatever final stimulus package becomes law includes enough funding to save child care!

Send a message to your members of Congress today to urge them to include child care in the final economic relief package!

Child care providers serve an incredibly important dual role in our society. They ensure kids have a safe place to go while their parents work, while also helping prepare them to start kindergarten.

The economic stress of closed programs, reduced enrollment and added costs for cleaning and safety equipment is causing a crisis for child care programs. In fact, a recent survey found that 40% of child care providers expect to close permanently without public assistance.

That will both set back our ability to recover from the coronavirus crisis and leave countless kids behind academically.

We can’t let that happen.

Send a message to your members of Congress today – save child care!

Thank you for being a voice for kids,

Jaime Odister
