Email from Rep. Mace   🏛 From the Desk of Congresswoman Nancy Mace As your Representative in Washington, we are working every day to fight for our Lowcountry values. This newsletter is your inside look at what is happening in Washington and how our team is serving you right here at home. Whether it is securing our borders, standing up for our military, or protecting your freedoms, we have your back. Here is what we have been working on in Washington:   INTRODUCING: The Making Homeownership Affordable Again Act, which would eliminate capital gains taxes on the sale of any principal residence and the sale of any home to a first-time homebuyer. The existing caps on the exclusion from capital gains taxes for the sale of principal residences were set nearly 30 years ago and have not been increased to reflect the dramatic rise in home prices. By allowing homeowners to sell their homes without capital gains tax penalties, this will dramatically increase the supply of homes on the market to ease the rise in home costs, allow seniors and empty nesters to downsize without incurring a tax burden, and help first-time homebuyers achieve the American dream of homeownership. Read more HERE. INTRODUCING: The Protecting Children in Surrogacy Act. Legislation creating a criminal prohibition for s*x offenders obtaining a child through surrogacy or entering into a surrogacy contract. This bill would also make surrogacy contracts where the intended parent is a s*x offender non-enforceable. We cannot allow children to be handed over to registered s*x offenders. These monsters should be nowhere near children, let alone have custody of one. Hold the Line. Read more HERE. Our Modernizing Government Technology Reform Act AND our Cybersecurity Hiring Modernization Act have PASSED UNANIMOUSLY out of the House Oversight Committee. Your tax dollars are funding a government running on legacy technology and outdated hiring practices. Modern problems require modern solutions, and these bipartisan bills deliver the fixes we need. Let's pass these bills. Read more HERE. We will be joining the DOGE Subcommittee thanks to Chairman Tim Burchett to root out waste, fraud, and abuse! Washington has been picking the pockets of hardworking families for decades. Every dollar wasted on bloated bureaucracy and fraud is a dollar that could stay in the hands of South Carolina families struggling with grocery bills, gas prices, and housing costs. The affordability crisis crushing American families starts with a spending crisis in Washington. Read more HERE. We voted YES to reopen the government and to give our troops their pay, their benefits, and the resources they need to do their jobs effectively and safely. Our men and women in uniform shouldn't miss a single paycheck while defending this nation. We will always stand on the side of our military and law enforcement, who work tirelessly to protect our country. Shutdowns don't accomplish policy goals, they abandon the people counting on us to lead. Read more HERE. Ghislaine Maxwell invoked the Fifth. She is already serving a 20 year sentence for trafficking minors. What more could she possibly be hiding? The answer is obvious. She is protecting powerful people who were involved in abusing children. We are not backing down. Read more HERE. We sent a letter to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer requesting a subpoena for Bill Gates to testify under oath about his relationship with convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. 3 million pages of Epstein documents were just released by the DOJ and the allegations are SICK. If these allegations are false, Bill Gates should have no problem saying so under oath before Congress. Nobody is above the law. Not billionaires. Not the powerful. Nobody. Read more HERE. We sent a letter to the Institute for Museum and Library Services requesting they pause funding to Charleston County Public Library, after s*xually explicit content was discovered in the children's section. Libraries are meant to foster learning and literacy, not s*xualize children. We are demanding answers and action before they receive another dollar in federal funding. Read more HERE. We sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. requesting the National Institutes of Health (NIH) follow through on their commitment to end federally funded painful and deadly experiments on dogs and cats. The NIH claimed to be committed to doing this, last July. However, grant records uncovered the NIH awarding millions in funding to new research projects involving painful and deadly experiments on dogs and cats in the U.S. and in foreign countries throughout fiscal year 2025. We will not sit silently while helpless animals are being tortured at the expense of the American taxpayer. Read more HERE. A tr*nsgender ANTIFA member who MADE violent death threats against Rep. Mace has now been arrested in Oregon for ATTEMPTED MURDER. To every prosecutor who declined to act after we reported this man: you had the chance to stop him, and you didn't. And someone took a bullet for it. We will not accept a system enabling violence. Justice needs to mean something again. Read more HERE. This is what economic development looks like, skilled workers building quality products in South Carolina. We authored an op-ed, published in The Post and Courier, in support of our FAIR Act. In 2025, nearly 550,000 South Carolinians depended on SNAP benefits. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, there were more than 226,000 fraudulent SNAP claims and 691,000 unauthorized transactions. Our bill would require EBT cards to include a photo of the cardholder and require inspection of the card when benefits are redeemed to help weed out fraud. Read the full Op-Ed HERE.
