We’ve all seen the countless videos and photos of Trump’s inhumane anti-immigration agenda in action.
They’re deploying masked and unidentified agents to carry out immigration enforcement — despite the clear risks to public safety and our basic civil liberties.
That’s why California passed a law last fall called the No Vigilantes Act that requires both state and federal law enforcement officers to clearly display their identification.
Trump sued to block that law from going into effect — and yesterday, a federal court ruled against him, upholding the identification requirement.
This is a clear win for the transparency and accountability that effective law enforcement requires.
But we have more work to do:
In the same breath, the court also ruled against another law, the No Secret Police Act , that would ban federal immigration agents from covering their faces.

Law enforcement agents concealing their identities with masks, driving unmarked vehicles, and wearing plainclothes instill fear in our communities and impede public safety. The Trump administration’s insistence on these unsafe tactics is simply not in the best interest of the American people.
My office will never stop working to protect your civil liberties and uphold public safety across California.
But I can’t win these fights alone.
If you agree we need to keep pushing for transparency and accountability in law enforcement, please join my team today with a donation of $25 or $50. No amount is too small — it all adds up to make this work possible. [[link removed]]
