We urgently need new and robust systems of care built for our collective wellbeing.
As we work toward advancing a shared mission for social good during this critical time, when nonprofits are experiencing major strain, our health—at individual, organizational, and systemic levels—cannot be separate from this vision and must be an even greater priority. Attending to our health provides a grounded foundation for values-driven decision-making and actions that are not just responsive but vision-forward.
This is where hope, possibility, and transformative action converge.
From here, we can ask ourselves: How are we creating spaces for respite and rejuvenation in solidarity with one another—especially at times when resources are stretched thin? What strategies can be integrated to meaningfully address our current realities while nourishing the imagination and brilliance both within our organizations and the communities we serve?
In this week’s Resourcing the Field, leaders explore themes connected to workplace wellbeing, belonging, and sustainability, and share their blueprints for advancing change. We’ll cover resources ranging from “tools for holistic care that enable us to not only survive, but to thrive in the midst of turmoil,” to practical steps foundations can take to help actualize justice and safety in our communities by protecting those who risk their lives defending our democracy and human rights. Together, these perspectives provide insights for creating conditions where we can lead fully, heal collectively, and sustain the work.
I hope these articles provide inspiration, hope, and insight for action as we collectively work to advance change and weave systems of care for our communities.
