Hi John, it’s Andy Levin, former Congressman for Michigan’s 9th district.
I read this recently, and it stopped me in my tracks:
In the richest country in the world, in a time when we’re more productive than ever, working people are bringing home less of what they create — while CEOs rake in record-breaking profits.
That didn’t happen by accident.
It happened because corporations learned how to rig the rules, and too many politicians learned how to look the other way in exchange for a campaign check.
This midterm election is about whether we keep accepting that bargain . . . or finally break free.
That’s why I’m proud to support Abdul El-Sayed for U.S. Senate.
Abdul is running a campaign powered by working people, for working people. He’s the only candidate in this race who has never taken money from a corporate PAC and never will, meaning you know he’s fighting for our best interests, not for billionaires.
Abdul believes that every worker deserves the right to join a union, and he’s not afraid to stand up to corporations that have warped our economy and our politics.
But standing with workers makes you a target.
Corporations that profit from low wages, weak labor laws, and rigged rules don’t tolerate leaders like Abdul — they attack. And because he won’t take their money, they’re preparing to spend whatever it takes to try to defeat him.
Solidarity,
Andy Levin
